 Secretary's Corner - October 2005 October 1, 2005

We are still looking for members who would like to serve on our board. The following positions are up for election this November:

Board Members (4 positions) - Each board member will organize the CE and meeting place for one general meeting per year. The term for this position is from January 2006 through December 2007.

President-Elect - This person will serve as President-Elect (Vice-President) in 2006, President in 2007, and Past-President in 2008. The President presides over monthly board meetings and serves as the regional delegate to the MSHP Executive Board (MSHP membership dues will be paid for by WMSHP). The Past-President organizes each year's Annual Spring Seminar.

Treasurer - This person is in charge of the finances for WMSHP. The term for this position is from January 2006 through December 2007.

Technician - This person may elect to organize a monthly CE meeting. The technician on our board often helps to arrange the Technician Track for the Annual Spring Seminar.

Please contact any of our current board members if you or someone you know would be interested in running for any of these positions. Please make any nominations by Friday, October 21st.

 Secretary's Corner - September 2005 August 29, 2005

Please remember that membership fees will increase from $10 to $20 per year, beginning on January 1st. If your membership expires at the end of this year, you may renew now before the cost goes up.

Also, don't forget that the newsletter is also available by email. By opting for the email newsletter, you'll receive all of the same information that you do in the paper newsletter, but typically you'll receive this information almost a week earlier than other members. Go to http://wmshp.net/address to change how you would like to receive your newsletter. If you need help, please contact me at (616) 656-2457 or webmaster@wmshp.net.

 Secretary's Corner - April 2005 March 23, 2005

As Jean mentioned in the President’s Corner, we “jumped the gun” when we announced an increase in our membership dues last month. The dues increase will not take place until next January.

However, a few of our members had already paid $20 for their 2005 dues. For these members, I have credited an extra year of membership to their accounts. If you paid the higher rate for dues and would rather have your $10 refunded back to you, please contact me at (616) 656-2457 or webmaster@wmshp.net.

In the meantime, I would encourage members to help WMSHP by signing up for our email newsletter. Roughly $500 each year goes toward postage for the paper newsletters; not to mention the considerable effort needed to print and assemble them every month. The email newsletter contains all of the same information as the paper version, and is typically delivered a few days earlier.

If you’d like to sign up for the email newsletter, go to wmshp.net/address (all lower-case letters) and sign-in with the Member Code on your mailing label. Then, change the “Contact Via” section below your name to “Email”. Please note that you will still have items like our Annual Spring Seminar brochure mailed to your home, and you may go back to receiving the paper newsletters at any time. Also, we will never give your email address to anyone else.

If you have questions, or are unable to sign up for the email newsletter online, you may contact me at (616) 656-2457 or webmaster@wmshp.net.

Thanks, and I hope to see you at our upcoming events.

 Secretary's Corner - February 2005 February 1, 2005

Please note that unpaid membership dues must be paid by March 1st in order to continue membership with WMSHP. Beginning with next month’s newsletter, we will not be including the membership renewal form with your monthly mailing. After that time, the renewal form can be downloaded at our website, WMSHP.net.

Check the mailing label on your newsletter to see when your membership expires. If you receive your newsletter via email, you may request this information by sending an email to webmaster@wmshp.net.

See you at the next meeting!
