Directions:

Corewell Health employees are encouraged to park in their assigned employee parking lot. The closest visitors parking lot to the meeting room is on the corner of Michigan St. & Coit Ave. and is labeled as Ramp 7. 

Enter the building from the entrance on the same corner. Once inside, walk through the double-doors straight ahead, stay on the 1st level and walk along the windows. The conference rooms will be on the left. 
Requirements for successful completion of credit: Attendees will need to submit a provided CE Activity Code code within 12 hours of the activity in order to check-in for the activity. They will then have 30 days to log-in to their WMed Profile to complete the evaluation form and receive credit.

Pharmacist Learning Objectives:

  1. Differentiate FDA-approved indications, expected benefits, and key limitations of commonly used GLP-1 receptor agonists and dual incretin therapies.
  2. Assess patient-specific safety considerations — gastrointestinal effects, hypoglycemia risk with concomitant therapy, renal considerations, pancreatitis or gallbladder warning signs, pregnancy, and peri-procedural management.
  3. Develop an evidence-based response plan for questions on dosing, missed doses, product switching, compounded products, shortages, and access barriers.
  4. Apply team-based communication strategies for counseling, documentation, referral, and follow-up when medication-related concerns arise.

Technician Learning Objective:

  1. Identify common GLP-1-related patient questions that should be answered using approved scripts, organizational resources, or pharmacist escalation.
  2. Recognize medication access and inventory issues including refill timing, shortage communication, product availability, and documentation needs.
  3. Describe the technician's role in gathering medication history details, confirming product information, routing clinical concerns, and supporting timely follow-up.
  4. Demonstrate appropriate communication techniques for handling patient questions while staying within technician scope of practice.
